Michael F. Geary

Judge Geary received his B.A. degree from University of California, Davis, in 1973 and his J.D. Degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1978. Judge Geary’s law practice focused on civil litigation until 2001 when he joined the Special Education Hearing Office, then part of McGeorge School of Law, where he adjudicated disputes between California school districts and the parents or guardians of persons with special needs. Judge Geary joined the Legal Department of the Board of Equalization (later the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration) in 2007, where he remained until joining the Office of Tax Appeals in January 2018.
