Amanda Vassigh

Administrative Law Judge, Sacramento

Amanda Vassigh was admitted to the California Bar in 2002. She worked in the private sector for six years as a tax attorney at a boutique law firm in San Francisco. She represented clients in federal and state tax controversies at all administrative levels, including exams, collections, and appeals. While in private practice, she also worked extensively on litigation matters pending before the U.S. District Court of Northern California and the U.S. Tax Court.

Ms. Vassigh subsequently worked as a Tax Counsel at the Franchise Tax Board, conducting administrative hearings and appearing before the State Board of Equalization. In addition to her work as a tax attorney, Ms. Vassigh has studied mediation and worked as a career counselor.

Ms. Vassigh brings patience, a calm demeanor, and integrity to her work as an administrative law judge. Ms. Vassigh is excited to be a part of California’s new Office of Tax Appeals and looks forward to helping establish its reputation as independent and accessible forum for fair tax appeals.
