Lauren Katagihara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis in 2003, and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2009. Ms. Katagihara began her legal career in private practice at Downey Brand LLP. Ms. Katagihara’s state service includes working at both the Department of Toxic Substances Control and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. During her tenure at the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, Ms. Katagihara held appeals conferences and issued decisions in sales and use tax and special tax and fee cases. In addition, she served as a Supervisor of the Appeals Bureau’s Southern California office. Ms. Katagihara is admitted to practice law in California and Hawaii.
